Vegas Play of the Day: Washington at Kansas City

Vegas Play of the Day: Washington at Kansas City”

The Chiefs are trying to stay flawless and a game clear of the Broncos in the AFC West. But a gritty performance against the Rams and a dominant showing against Oakland gives them the possibility of a winning record at the bye, and that would give them legitimate consideration as the best team in the NFC East after the first month.

Can the Redskins slow down Kareem Hunt and the Chiefs and end another unbeaten run after doing for the Raiders' last week?

So we could see Alex Smith having to do the bulk of the work for the first time this season.

An estimated 200 players sat or took a knee at last weekend's games, but Mr. Rovell said only 54 did so this weekend. HC Andy Reid is known as an offensive genius, and with a weapon like Kareem Hunt integrated in his system... the sky is the limit. As they stumbled out of the gates in Week 1, the Redskins looked like a squad facing the risk of going 0-4 or 1-3 entering the bye. They'll head to Houston next week to face a Texans team that scored 57 points on Sunday. Considering those problems haven't been fixed, it makes sense why some players wouldn't want to stand just to conform to the NFL's groupthink. The Washington Redskins ground game is averaging 136.3 yards per contest, and Chris Thompson leads the way with 119 yards and two touchdowns.

During the game, the offense will gain more momentum, but won't be enough to come out on top. RB Chris Thompson showed his big-play ability again, tallying six catches for 150 yards and a TD.

The Redskins have the second-most stingy run defence this season, and have only surrendered 62.3 yards per game.

Monday Night Football, as always, will air on ESPN in Week 5.

The Chiefs fell behind quickly, finding themselves in a 10-0 hole in the first quarter. Hunt is averaging 8.5 yards per carry, numbers that demand respect and could open up room in the passing game for Smith, Kelce and Hill.

The Redskins, meanwhile have been prone to silly mistakes.

"Skins quarterback Kirk Cousins, who became a father for the first time Friday, will play in his 50th career regular season game Monday". It's no surprise that Chicago, Cleveland and Cincinnati have combined for a record of 2-10 through four weeks. Kansas City's offensive line is ravaged with injuries, making it ill-suited to match up with rushers like veteran Ryan Kerrigan and rookie Jonathan Allen.

Arrowhead Stadium remains one of the best home-field advantages in the NFL. Butker, however, had bounced back to connect on his last three attempts, including the decisive 43-yarder to put the Chiefs ahead 23-20.

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES — Redskins' only win over Chiefs was September 18, 1983. This time around, however, the Redskins will be on the road in one of the most hostile environments in the NFL.

Week 4 of the NFL season concludes with an intriguing Monday Night Football matchup between the league's last remaining undefeated team, and another team off to a solid start.
