How John Cena sacrificed himself for the WWE

This is Braun's first loss since his match with Reigns at Fastlane and also the first time he hasn't impressed in the ring since he re-debuted on Raw previous year.

Brock Lesnar has successfully defended his Universal Title against Braun Strowman in an epic main event matchup at No Mercy pay-per-view. Former champ Neville made a decision to send a message to Amore: That he would soon end the reign of the new champ on behalf of the entire tag team division, sacrificing his right to claim a rematch as he laid into Amore. The Beast - get all your No Mercy results here as they come in. Not only was he champion, but thanks to his No-Contact clause in his contract, if any other cruiserweight laid hands on Amore they would find themselves stripped of any chance to battle him for the belt. After putting Lesnar on a stretcher, throwing some desk chairs and almost emerging the match's victor, Strowman's momentum could not be stopped. The crowd was solidly behind The Miz, who was dominated throughout the match.

Miz has done a cracking job as champion and as one of the best heels in the WWE will make for a good foil for Reigns.

Of course, Cesaro losing his front teeth in a bloody mess provided an even more intense feel to the match and some of the visuals provided, with a bloodied Cesaro locking in a crossface, were fantastic. With the championship and his "Miztourage", there's an aura about him.

Cena and Reigns spent as much time outside the ring early on as they did in it, with each man flinging the other into the stairs.

Jason Jordan and Matt Hardy defeated Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas via pinfall. Miz followed up with the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. Enzo may have escaped this time, but the story for the cruiserweights will be dominated now by the tale of The King of the Cruiserweights doing anything to reclaim his crown. Amore's been beaten up quite a bit of late - especially recently as Braun Strowman ran roughshod over him on Raw.

Ambrose, as usual, puts up a good fight but he makes a mistake when he attempts an elbow drop from the top turnbuckle.

The women's division seems to be at its best with these free for all brawls.

Here is a guy who just can not get a win to save himself, unable to gain victory even after injuring Balor before the bell and goading him into the fight anyway. To put it simply: if the one-two punch of Mickie James and Alexa Bliss cutting an in-ring promo, and Enzo main eventing with a championship celebration, threatens to steal the show, something weird is going on. For those who may be recent converts to WWE fandom, The Shield debuted at Survivor Series 2012, and was comprised of Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins.

The Shield brothers have been on fire since reuniting.

Who will win: Ambrose and Rollins.

So. While we haven't seen the last of the legend, it certainly sounds like this may have been his final match as a full-timer.

Also on Raw, Roman Reigns entered the ring to berate his No Mercy opponent John Cena and to point out how the WWE mainstay was absent Monday due to his flourishing career outside of the company. And he clearly looks to be the future.

Strowman has been billed as the biggest, baddest monster to come through the WWE since, well, Brock Lesnar. The first Mania-caliber match is John Cena taking on Roman Reigns.

He has never held the Intercontinental title, and a feud with Miz could carry him over until December at least if booked right.
