What to expect when the Buffalo Bills take the field tomorrowā€¯

Despite playing down to the level of their opponent at times Sunday, the Bills showed improved mental toughness in first-year coach Sean McDermott's debut by closing out a 21-12 home win over the New York Jets with a strong second-half performance.

Heading into this game, LeSean McCoy's workload became a trending topic after McDermott's comments to the media earlier in the week. "Good football teams are resilient". "That's what we were looking to do is to create that type of identity". "And we put ourselves in position to do that in all three phases".

"It was big", Taylor said.

A lot can happen in a short amount of time in the NFL, and I learned that can apply to my football team. It wasn't flashy but until late he was keeping the team moving and staying out of the way. McCoy may carry an even bigger part of the load with Mike Gillislee now in New England, while Taylor, if he plays, is one of the best running quarterbacks. One of his catches and runs lived up to his CutonDime25 twitter handle, as he split two linebackers assigned to shadow him for a 21-yard gain. He also had five receptions for 49 yards.

We saw an offense that might not have looked as inept as feared (although it's still painful to watch), one that will certainly see worse days ahead, probably as soon as next Sunday in Oakland.

This is hardly Bowles' first game management blunder. Eighteen of their 72 plays went for at least 10 yards.

While Tolbert barreled into the end zone, McCoy was hunched over on the sideline with a wrist injury sustained on the previous play.

"It's all right", McCoy said. "I couldn't feel it". I couldn't squeeze the ball.

McCown found a way to get the Jets back into it with two minutes left in the third. The Bills were 8-17 on third down for a conversion rate of 47%.

That would be the Jets' only notable play of the first quarter though as the offense could generate just 16 total yards and amass 4:15 of possession.

Safety Micah Hyde, a free agent offseason addition, sealed the victory by intercepting McCown at Buffalo's 41 to end the Jets' final series.

However, Josh McCown did have an effective day, especially on moderate passes.

Taylor finished the game with 224 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception with an additional 38 rushing yards.

Buffalo held a 236-85 advantage in yardage at halftime, but only led 7-6. The Jets had 329 total yards per game while allowed 342.

Bills quarterback uncertainty- The Bills still don't seem to have decided on whether Tyrod Taylor is a legitimate starting quarterback in this league or whether they're ready to move on from him. The cheers from the Buffalo fans would soon turn to dismay as Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor was picked off in the end zone off of the hands of tightened Charles Clay. New Bills kicker Steven Hauschka kicks four field goals and the defense scores a touchdown.
