Rodgers, Packers down Seahawks in epic Week 1 defensive battleā€

It is one of the most exciting matchups of opening weekend, with Aaron Rodgers and the seemingly unstoppable Packers offense going up against the always stingy Seahawks defense.

For me, I'll just be happy to see my brother, because there was a chance I couldn't see him.

It's all about defense again.

The end result is a stacked roster that could give Coach Mike McCarthy and the Packers their best shot at returning to the Super Bowl in years.

At their core, the Packers still build through the draft. Seattle too has never managed more than three consecutive victories over the Packers. Rodgers is going to have to get the ball in the hands of tight end Marcellus Bennett early and often to stress the linebackers and keep them on their heels.

The Seattle Seahawks know finishing the preseason unbeaten provides little insight into the regular season. Both teams once again have Super Bowl aspirations and should be around during that time of the year, so this could be a preview into a potential playoff game.

"We've been to the playoffs eight straight years, which is an accomplishment". Rawls hasn't practiced or played since he got a high-ankle sprain following two carries anf 5 yards rushing in the first preseason game August 13.

Rodgers, who turns 34 in December, shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. "For a young guy, we put a lot on him, in all facets of the offense tonight, and he was able to handle it".

"We're in here, we have a job to do". Typically, however, you see more force involved when such penalties are called.

"It doesn't matter where he's at", linebackers coach Winston Moss said matter-of-factly. All the hand-wringing about Ty Montgomery getting passed on the depth chart and losing opportunities to Jamaal Williams is going to go the same place as all those Najeh Davenport-is-gonna-run-for-1,100-yards takes: in trash. "He's ready for a full load". Wilson struggled with timing on quick passing plays in the past, but it's something he worked on in camp to improve this year.

Fans say the celebration is a great way to start the season. In addition to the offensive line struggles, starting tackle Bryan Bulaga's status for week one is now unknown due to an ankle injury that plagued him throughout the preseason.

Defensive coordinator Dom Capers has rolled out some unconventional defenses before. He underwent surgery to fix his ankle and - after a full calendar year of inquisitions about his figure - opted for a fresh start with the Seahawks. Either side of half time, the Patriots nudged their way into the lead, winning each quarter 10-7, to head into the fourth with a healthy six point lead.

The Seahawks don't have an offensive line that will allow them to trade scores with the Packers. On the other sideline will stand your own defender of the weak, shield in the night, and champion of truth, justice and the American way Green Bay Packers.

SAFETY IN NUMBERS: Safety is a strength on defense, with the emerging Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Morgan Burnett forming one of the league's top tandems.

WR Paul Richardson - Richardson quietly has moved into the starting lineup for the Seahawks, He has the kind of long-ball ability that Wilson hasn't had at his disposal much during his time with Seattle.
