Haryana Government today took a major decision to suspend the mobile internet services for next 72 hours following Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Ram Rahim Rape verdict case hearing on 25th August (tomorrow) at Panchkula High Court. Women followers plan to keep vigil all night, though separate arrangements have been made for their stay by the Dera management.

Stern action would be taken against those found violating the instructions, Deputy Commissioner of Panchakula Gauri Parashar Joshi had said.

It was reported that Punjab, Haryana on high alert after violence by Dera Sacha Sauda followers feared in the city. The senior officers of police are keeping close eye on social media to check the rumours.

Through Facebook and Twitter posts on Thursday, Ram Rahim said that he would be present in the CBI court in Panchkula to listen to the verdict.

Heavy police has been deployed in Bathinda, which shares its border with Sirsa, where the Dera headquarters in Haryana.

"People who are arriving in Panchkula have said that they would not heed the pleas of the Ashram".

Apart from the Army, which has been called out in Sirsa and Panchkula and is on the standby in other areas, the Centre has rushed as many as 150 companies of paramilitary forces to Punjab and Haryana.

Taking precautionary steps, the police has also set up two control rooms in the area.

He is facing charges of raping a former female follower inside the Dera campus, near Sirsa.

The sect claims to have 50 million followers and runs a spiritual empire that promotes vegetarianism and campaigns against drug addiction.
