Jay Cutler agrees to 1-year deal with Dolphins”

In turn, Cutler has reportedly expressed interest in coming out of his short retirement to play for former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase in Miami. Cutler is again interested in joining the Dolphins, but there are reports circulating that he is leaning towards staying retired.

That comes after incumbent Dolphins' starter Ryan Tannehill injured his left leg (courtesy of the Miami Herald) during a non-contact play during a practice. Week 1 remains 37 days away, plenty of time for Cutler to learn the offense, get his body into National Football League shape - he's a quarterback, not a running back - and develop some sort of chemistry with Dolphins receivers.

A year later with the departure of Gase, Cutler struggled. Matt Moore went 2-2 as a starter replacing Tannehill past year and becomes the new No. 1 - for the moment.

That means the Dolphins are going to also talk to people about possibly filling Tannehill's spot.

Gase said Friday that surgery was an option for Tannehill, but there is no timetable for a decision.

"When I get there, I'll be able to tell you", Gase said.

While signing Cutler wouldn't make me push Landry into the top two or three rounds of a fantasy draft, it makes me more interested in taking him in the early-to-mid fourth round. "I'm not really thinking about that".

"I'm dealing with this [team] right now".

Cutler past year was injury riddled much of the season - he had hand and a labrum injury - and threw four touchdowns and five interceptions in five games.

"I would sure hope [Kaepernick is] not [being blackballed]", Ross said. "You don't expect this to happen". I think he has a lot to offer a team. While it is a good sign Eddie Lacy has lost a fair amount of weight entering this season, there is still a load of risk that is tied to him. Cutler was limted to only five games due to injury, Cutler threw 1,059 yards, four touchdowns against five interceptions. He posted a career-best 92.3 quarterback rating with a 64.4 completion percentage, 21 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions.
