Judge hit his major league-leading 19th home run and NY connected five times in all, battering Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles 16-3 on Saturday night for their fourth straight win.

Judge hit a spectacular homer in the bottom of the sixth inning against Orioles righty reliever Logan Verrett on Sunday afternoon in Yankee Stadium.

Gary Sanchez of the New York Yankees celebrates with Aaron Judge, who is leading the league in batting average, home runs and RBI. It's the year Maris hit 61 homers to break Babe Ruth's record after a celebrated dual pursuit with Mantle.

He has at least seven strikeouts and no more than two earned runs allowed in each game, becoming the third right-handed pitcher to put together a streak of five such starts in Yankees history.

NY has crushed 98 bombs on the season, marking the most through 59 games in franchise history, per MLB Stat of the Day.

Tanaka responded with six strong innings before the Angels knocked him out of the game in the seventh.

The Orioles (31-29) had a chance to cut into New York's lead in a weekend series between the two teams in the Bronx, but instead fell in two straight games to the Yankees on June 9-10.

Young delivered the biggest blow, snapping a 6-6 tie by depositing a slider from Michael Feliz (2-1) into the right-field seats. Both runs were unearned in a rally aided by Headley's one-out error on Eric Young Jr.'s grounder.

We were fools to believe in anything other than Tillman's career-long first inning struggles. And this year's squad also has three five-homer games in 2017, the most in the majors.

Aaron Nola (3-4) allowed two hits through the first four innings before Kolten Wong led off the fifth for the Cardinals with a double.

After a slow April, Brett Gardner hit.327 with nine home runs and 21 RBI during May. That eight-game slide would've been the longest of its kind since 2011.

Starting pitching and hitting need to improve in order to win those games, though. Tanaka was scheduled to start Sunday but got an extra day off in the midst of the toughest stretch of his career, in which he's lost five straight starts (27 runs in 22 2/3 innings, including 11 homers).

As for Judge's teammates and anyone else, television commentators Michael Kay and Paul O'Neill said, "Oh my goodness" and "Wow", while Didi Gregorius watched while standing on top of a bench by the railing.

Mallex Smith had three hits and used his speed to set up the go-ahead run, helping the Rays take three of four from the Athletics. As a teenager, he was a pitcher and first baseman for the baseball team, a wide receiver for the football team, and a center for the basketball team.

Justin Upton hit a grand slam off the right-field foul pole and Nicholas Castellanos hit a two-run homer as the Detroit Tigers averted a sweep with victory over the Red Sox. Cameron Maybin followed with an RBI double off Tyler Clippard to tie the game at 3-3, the run charged to Tanaka. His last hit was a really low pitch that he just went down and punched through the left side.

On June 10 and according to MLB Statcast, Judge hit a home run with an "exit speed" of 121.1 miles per hour.

Ivan Nova pitched six shutout innings, Elias Diaz drove in two runs and the Pirates beat Jeff Locke and the Marlins.

Nova (6-4) was flawless through three innings, including striking out the side in the second. Felipe Rivero pitched 1 1/3 innings for his second save. While in high school, he won the 2012 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby.

As a team, the Orioles are hitting for just a.226 average, the lowest in a single month since September '15.

Alex Meyer is having a better season that Masahiro Tanaka who has a 6.55 ERA on the season and has give up 12 ER in his last two starts.
