Joshua dares Tyson Fury after Klitschko's defeat”

Joshua felt that he faced the better version of Klitschko in the ring.

Britain's Lennox Lewis, a former world heavyweight champion sitting ringside, tweeted that Klitschko should hold his head high.

Joshua went on to knock Klitschko down twice in the space of 30 seconds before the referee stopped the fight with the Ukrainian trapped on the ropes.

Joshua grew up for some of his early years in Ijebu-Ode Nigeria and returned to the United Kingdom halfway through Year Seven to join Kings Langley Secondary School.

This fight lived up to its billing.

At that point it looked like the 41 year old was going to reclaim the WBA (super), IBF and IBO belts that he'd lost to Tyson Fury 17 months earlier.

Previously, Joshua had never been past the seventh round. Even a rematch with Klitschko would be a fun fight. The judge's scorecards at the time of the stoppage were 96-93 Joshua (Don Trella), 95-93 Joshua (Nelson Vazquez) and 95-93 Klitschko (Steve Weisfeld).

The Briton wobbled Klitschko with a left before landing a series of clubbing blows, including a cracking right uppercut, which sent the Ukrainian to the canvas.

On the possibility of a rematch, Hearn explained: "If fans want to see a rematch then I would say there's a very good chance that be met".

The result saw Joshua bring his flawless fight record to 19-0.

"I thought he wouldn't get up", Klitschko said. "If you don't take part, you fail".

"To be exposed in front of 90,000 people with your lack of experience is brutal but to come through the other side is just one of the most remarkable performances I've ever seen".

"I didn't think he was going to get up, but he got up, respect. Sometimes you have to ride a few shots and take a few shots before pushing on for victory".

Klitschko had looked on the verge of victory when he heavily dropped Joshua in the sixth round, after which he felt he could have done more to finish the younger fighter off. Victor takes all, considered the best man on the planet.

"I wish I could raise my hands but congratulations to Anthony". "I was planning to do it".

As I'm thinking about the fight and it's still fresh, I'm actually taking down notes of little things of how I can improve.

"Tyson Fury, where you at baby?" It ended in such spectacular fashion that Joshua can now write his own ticket in a heavyweight division long starved for star power. Tonight, boxing was the big victor.
